EU member states’ incentives for the purchase of Electric Cars

The electric cars that will be launched in Europe this year are expected to be a starting point for the market in this particular category. After all, electric mobility is the antidote for the automotive industry to reduce the environmental footprint of vehicles, but also perhaps the only “chariot” for manufacturers to avoid hefty fines in the event of failure to meet the strict targets set by the European Union in relation to the average emissions of each group’s vehicle fleet.

According to official ACEA data, the majority of EU countries, 20 out of 27+1 (for practical reasons, these countries also include Great Britain) currently provide buyers in their countries with significant incentives, with only 7 of them (see Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Malta) not participating in corresponding programs to promote electric mobility.
