How are license plates deposited?
It only takes five clicks for vehicle owners to temporarily immobilise their vehicles through the special platform of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), called myCAR .
Step 1:
According to the AADE, owners simply enter the platform www.aade.gr/mycar , and using their Taxisnet login details, they can download the Road Tax payment notice or print the certificate of non-debt of Road Taxes in case they want to transfer their vehicle.
Step 2:
In the 2nd step, users select “Digital Immobility/Traffic”, where the owner’s VAT number, the registration number of their vehicle and the date are automatically displayed. In case they have more than one vehicle in their possession, then, by clicking on the registration number, the license plates of all vehicles are displayed, so that they can choose which one they wish to deposit for.
Attention: The digital registration of license plates cannot be completed if the owner has not paid Traffic Fees or does not have an active insurance policy for the vehicle!
Step 3:
In addition, the vehicle status is displayed (MOVING/NO MOVEMENT). Select “Vehicle Immobilization Declaration”.
Step 4:
Then, they are taken to the page, where the full details of the applicant and their vehicle are automatically displayed (Registration Number, VAT Number, Full Name or Company Name, Address of Residence or Headquarters, Tax Office).
Then, the owner clicks on the relevant box, so that they responsibly declare that:
a) the vehicle will be stored in a closed and fenced area.
b) they will not move the vehicle after it has been brought to a standstill.
In fact, the owners list in detail the details of the parking space where the vehicle will be parked.
Step 5:
The fifth step is the completion of the Parking Space Details by the user.
It is recalled that the plates are removed from the owner and kept by him. They are no longer required to be deposited with the Tax Office. The same procedure is followed in the event that the owner of the -stationary- vehicle wishes to put it into circulation.
