The new Home Savings II Program was designed with energy saving in mind in the residential building sector and is aimed at individuals whose main residence belongs to a low energy category. The program provides financial incentives to beneficiaries in the form of a grant and a loan with an interest rate subsidy, in order to carry out significant interventions that improve the energy efficiency of their property.

Basic conditions  that must be met in order for your residence to be included in the Program are:

  • It is used as  a main residence .
  • It exists  legally , that is, it has a building permit or other legal document.
  • It has been classified based on the  Energy Performance Certificate  (EPC), which has been issued after  26/11/2017 , in a category lower than or equal to D.
  • It has not been deemed worthy of demolition.

Contribution to environmental protection

Recycling aluminum is the most important means for energy saving and reducing emissions. Specifically, recycling aluminum saves 95% of the energy needed to produce it from raw materials. The primary production of 1 kilogram of aluminum, through the electrolysis of aluminum from bauxite, requires 14 KWH of energy, while recycling the same amount from scrap requires only 5% of the energy of the electrolysis method. At the same time, recycling 1 ton of aluminum leads to savings of: 4 tons of bauxite, 500 kg of soda, 100 kg of limestone, 700 kg of oil, 25 kg of cryolite and 35 kg of aluminum fluoride.
